Frank (Francis) William Hounsell, (Camden 1885- South Devon 1956). Watercolour and gouache rural landscape scene of farmland with cattle. Signed, dated 1944. Framed and glazed. Image 38 x 18 cm. Glazed frame 69 x 58 cm. Bears a Royal Academy Exhibition label verso and an artists label titling this as "Weatherwarn". 1911 census shows him as an Art Student aged 25 in Fulham. Married in 1919. Principal Colchester School of Arts 1925, he had moved to a similar principal role in Derby by the 1930s. . SOLD

1914 Cornish School watercolour painting, depicting a family waving a naval rating off to his wartime duties in a coastal village. A man kneels in the foreground helping a young girl unfurl a large union jack flag, a dog watches the proceedings with interest, and other naval ratings wait in a cart loaded with their kit bags. It is inscribed lower left "When duty calls 1914". There is the faintest indistinct signature lower right which looks partly obscured by paint. Sheet measures 29.5 x 55.5 cm, painted image measures 29 x 46 cm. This may be tube rolled for postage.
Edward Bouverie Hoyton (1900-1988). Etching titled in pencil to lower margin as St Michael's Mount and signed in pencil to the lower margin with RA, FRSA after his name. As this etching bears his FRSA letters, it can be dated as post 1958 as that was the year he gained fellowship. The image looks as though the artist was positioned down on the beach somewhere below Turnpike Road in Marazion. Framed and glazed.
